The Five Most Common Money Blocks
Most money blocks look like being responsible, busy, or humble. Let's talk about the five most common money blocks that are most likely blocking you. The first is the hard work, or hustle, block. Women have a tendency to believe that hard work equals success. Anytime they're not working hard, they sabotage themselves. If success comes through ease and more feminine energy, they think something's wrong and that they're not worthy of that success. So they'll end up sabotaging it or working harder to compensate and overcompensate for the success that has come in.
It's a really common block, especially when they've spent their entire career working hard for the success they already have. When they start to slow down in this work to speed up their results, it feels like something's missing. This hard work paradigm can come back in months when sales have gone down. When a person isn't getting the results they're used to, the first thing they do is start hustling harder and working harder, almost to burnout, to overcompensate for the lack of results. It continues to show us that they've tangled success with hard work. It's so deeply ingrained in our society. We hear it all the time: "Want success? Got to work hard for it." It's definitely there, and it's one you've got to actually give up because, quite frankly, you'll burn out.
Breaking Free from the Hustle Mentality
What we see is that a woman has success in her career. When she looks back at the last decade of her career and the success she's created, she's done it the very masculine way, through hard work and following a certain system. When she becomes present to that desire in her heart for more, she can see herself with more and achieving more. But in her mind, she can't imagine working any harder to get it. When she imagines it, she's like, "Oh my gosh, I'm going to have to sacrifice my family or my health for that next level." Then comes a decision: Do I want that? I'm not willing to sacrifice my marriage or my kids. So then she keeps herself small because the belief is that she's got to give up one thing or work hard for that success. And it's not true. The truth is that you can have it all and that if you can see it in your mind, you can hold it in your hand, just like my mentor Bob Proctor would say. The first step is to actually admit to yourself that you want more, that you want more in your life. Let's open up the possibility. What if it can come to you by working smarter, not harder? Although you have that strong programming to hustle, hustle, hustle, there is a different way. What if you've just never been taught that way? Then we teach you this new system, this new way where you've actually got to let go of the hustle and the hard work. You'll notice that a lot of the things you've been doing are like running on a hamster wheel, doing things because you think you have to. It's a lot of repetition or a habitual way of being, but it's not actually true. At your next level, you'll have to let go of that way of being and instead embody the next level of leadership. A lot of that has to do with energetics and your self-image, the way that you view yourself. You'll find that you'll actually slow down to speed up. This is extremely uncomfortable for the hardworking woman who is used to that hard work creating her success. When you start to experience success on a new level by embodying the more feminine side of you, which is slowing down, the more creative side of you, the sabotage comes in. It's really remarkable because you're thinking, "This is too easy," and you're almost waiting for the other shoe to drop or for something to stop working because you're so used to the hustle. This is where a lot of the coaching comes in. You get to embrace self-care, relaxation, taking care of yourself, delegation, and boundaries.
A lot of lessons come at that level, including learning to receive. Let's say you overhear something in the news about the economy being bad and you start to expect your results to go down. Maybe you even experience that because your results do cycle around in the lesson cycle. Then that hardworking woman will end up hustling really hard to burnout because she'll think that's the only way to bring results back up. But the opposite is actually true. We'll teach you how your inside world, your energetics, and the energy behind the action matter more than the action itself. Hustling is actually a waste of your time and a big reason why you hit that glass ceiling in your income in the first place. With this new way of being comes new results.
The Hoarding Block: Disguised as Being Responsible
The next common block is what we call the hoarding block, and this is disguised as being responsible. The first month that you have an influx of money, for example, there's $10,000 in the bank account. You have an opportunity to invest $5,000 in a new team member. What most people do is very logical math. They'll take the $10,000 in the bank account, minus $5,000, and that leaves them with $5,000. This idea that there's only $5,000 left will have a person be responsible with their money and actually hoard their money and take it out of circulation. This is a very common money block because what they're not realizing is that money must be kept in circulation. You've got to give it or let go of it freely and easily, following intuition and joy, for it to come back. I like to think of math in a different way. You've got $10,000 in your bank account, and you've got this opportunity to invest $5,000. Think of the return on that investment. Now you've got $10,000 minus $5,000, that $5,000 investment. Let's say you 10x it and it becomes $50,000. Now you've got $55,000 in your bank. You've got to be able to see the return on that investment and actually decide that that's the return on the investment, rather than logically hoarding your money or doing what average people say, like saving it for a rainy day and keeping it out of circulation. That is a major money block. Instead, follow joy and intuition, invest your money, and see that there is a strong return on it.
The Receiving Block: Disguised as Being Humble
The next money block is the receiving block, and this is disguised as being humble. Let me know if this resonates. This is the woman who has success in her life and is not able to really celebrate herself. She has wins. She's got money coming in. Her clients are saying yes. And yet, she keeps it to herself. Every success she has, she brushes under the rug and is quickly on to the next. She does it because she doesn't want to brag. Instead, she wants to be humble and classy about her success, but it's actually blocking more from coming in. My recommendation for you is to celebrate your wins, to celebrate them publicly and with your community. This allows you to inspire others that if you can do it, they can too. This celebration and the focus on what is happening in your life will actually attract more of it to you. Right now, the way that you're being humble is something that society tells you to do. But instead of being humble and modest, I'd like you to be honest with how fabulous you actually are and brag about your wins. Brag so much that you're a little uncomfortable because that means you're actually growing into the leader you're here to become. As you do, you'll attract more of it to you. No more flying humble, no more being modest. Instead, you're going to be honest with how fabulous you are.
The Never Enough Block: Always Wanting More
The next block is the never enough block, and this is very common. This is the woman who has really great results, but they're never good enough. She's super hard on herself and has high expectations of herself and others. She's got the wins. Things are happening in her business and in her life, but she knows she's made for more. And that's the trap because that "made for more" mindset, or what she's going after, that vision for her life, is like a moving horizon. She's never going to get there. You know that when you're in the desert and it looks like you're getting to the end, but it just keeps moving as you walk closer toward it. That's being in the gap versus the gain. This is from the book 10x Is Easier Than 2x, where they explain that being in the gap is actually a very dangerous place for leaders because you'll never get there. This is a common block where it's never enough. How you change that is by focusing on the gain: how far you've already come, how far you've grown from a month ago, last week, or earlier today, and focusing on your wins and celebrating them. As you do, they get bigger and you keep yourself in the gain, and more of that is going to come. If this is you, you're the woman who has traditionally been hard on herself, but instead will focus on her wins and be willing to celebrate them and celebrate the wins of others. Yes, there's always more for you, and you'll get there when you keep yourself in the gain versus the gap.
The Rich People Block: What Do You Really Believe?
The final block is the rich people block, and this one is a fun one to uncover. Finish my sentence: Rich people are... Whatever that word is for you, rich people are greedy. Rich people are mean. Rich people are whatever. That is your indication, and it's most likely holding you back because you don't want to be more successful or have more money for fear that you'll be judged, just like the way that you subconsciously judge rich people. It's that answer that comes quickly. It's the one that's in your subconscious mind, and it's a hidden belief. You'll sabotage yourself because you don't want to become, for example, greedy. You'll block the money and keep yourself average. It looks like it's all coincidence. You'll work hard, but the truth is your subconscious mind will never allow you to become that which you think rich people are, which is most likely a negative way of seeing them based on the way we're programmed through society. Instead, you're going to change that. See money as good. Money in the hands of good people makes this world a better place. Money is a magnifier. It magnifies who you truly are. Unless you're greedy as a poor person or someone with an average income, you're not going to be greedy when you're rich. The more money you earn, the more it will go toward the things you already love. You'll support charities that you love in a bigger way. You'll bless your family and your communities in ways that are important to you. Of course, if you love fashion or clothing, that's going to be a part of it as well. You're going to allow yourself to have it all. Money is a magnifier, and money is good.
Client Success Story and Removing Money Blocks
Let me tell you about my client, Tiffany. She's in the financial industry, and she was earning about $20,000 a month when she came to us. She had a business partner that she was hiding behind. She saw how he was with money and had these money blocks. We identified them, and she quickly went from $20,000 a month to over $100,000 a month consistently. It's been over four years of her attracting millions into her company and becoming the woman of her business. She's taken her family on a trip on a private jet. She's bought her cottage in the woods where her kids and her grandkids come. And she's about to buy land and build her dream home. What she noticed was that she had many of these blocks: the hardworking block and being humble. She was quick to celebrate her business partner, but not herself. These blocks were sabotaging her. They were getting in the way of her becoming the leader she actually was and having the money flow through her business. Once she identified them and stepped into her own personal leadership, her results followed. If any of these blocks resonate with you and you'd like to learn more about how to remove them, how to let go and bring in and attract more money that you know you're worthy of, then let's talk. We'll give you a system to not only remove the blocks but to become the version of you that can hold the money you know you deserve.
